The Best Gift Wrapping Tools and Materials

The Best Gift Wrapping Tools and Materials

Design by Anna Ballard

The secret to beautifully wrapped gifts is the right tools and materials. Gift wrapping expert—and Ballard & Prescott founder—Anna Ballard, shares her favorites for elegant gifting.

- Wrapping Paper: Look for paper that is thick so it won’t tear. Ballard & Prescott has a wonderful assortment of charming, luxury wrapping paper. BONUS: All our papers are double-sided so you get two designs in one.

    - We used our Ballerina Wrapping Paper in this video.

    - If you are looking for wrapping paper that works all year round, we recommend our White Anemone and Casco Bay Wrapping Papers

- Sharp Scissors: Our favorite pair, and the one featured in the video are Studio Carta’s Paper Scissors. These also make a wonderful gift. (If you are looking for a less expensive option, we recommend these.)

- Ribbon: Double-sided or double face satin ribbon makes a great impression and won’t get squished if you are shipping your gifts. You can find it at most art supply stores, like Michael’s or Joann Fabrics

- Tape: Double-sided tape will make your gifts look clean and elevated. If you wrap a lot of gifts, we recommend this set. If you only wrap sporadically, this is a great choice.
